Shakira honored as ‘Woman of the Year’ at Billboard’s Women in Latin Music gala
A month after settling in Miami, Shakira has reappeared publicly in the U.S. city and has done it in style: in the first edition of the ‘Women in Latin Music’ awards of the prestigious music magazine Billboard, where she has received a tribute and has been recognized as the ‘Woman of the Year’.

An event that took place this Sunday (Monday morning Spanish time) at the Wasco Center in Miami and in which the singer, who arrived accompanied by part of her family, preferred not to walk the red carpet or attend the media at the photocall.

Radiant, Shakira stole the spotlight with a very tight black strapless mini-dress with transparent detail in the skirt, topped by a leather strap. A look that she completed with her very long and wavy hair loose and impossible platform sandals with ankle straps, also in black.

In her emotional thank you speech, in which she confessed that «music was what brought me back to myself when I felt most lost,» she also made a dig at Gerard Piqué, making it clear that she has overcome her breakup: «There comes a time in every woman’s life when you no longer depend on someone to love or accept yourself as you are.
