The American rock and roll pianist and singer Jerry Lee Lewis died on Friday at the age of 87 of «natural causes», according to his representative, Zach Farnum.
Farnum released a statement in which he explained that the iconic singer died at his home in Desoto County, in northwest Mississippi.
His closest friends have confirmed that his seventh wife, Judith, was with him during his last moments of life. According to what she reported, Lewis acknowledged these days that he was not afraid of the afterlife.
Along with other artists such as Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley, Lewis was one of the leading American rock stars of the 1950s, until a shady marriage to a cousin’s daughter, who was only 13 years old, cut short his professional career.
