American singer and actor Aaron Carter, 34, was found dead Saturday at his home in Lancaster, California, according to TMZ, citing police sources.
Authorities responded to Carter’s home at 11am local time following a 911 call that a man had drowned at the scene.
Aaron Carter, who rose to fame as a child in the 1990s on the media power of his brother, Nick Carter, one of the Backstreet Boys singers, suffered from mental health problems including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, manic depression and anxiety, as well as addiction issues.
The artist released four studio albums, the first of which was released in 1997, when he was only nine years old. During his childhood he also used to tour with his brother’s band.
