One day after his 65th birthday, gangsta rap pioneer-turned-actor Ice-T unveiled his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star becomes the 2,747th on the Walk and joins Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, LL COOL J, Diddy, Missy Elliott, Pharrell and Queen Latifah as the only rappers to receive this honor to date.
Helped popularize gangsta rap
Ice-T helped popularize gangsta rap in the mid-to-late 1980s and has won two Grammys out of his four nominations: for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 1991 for ‘Back On The Block’ and, in 2021, for Best Metal Performance for ‘Bum-Rush’ as part of Body Count.

Actor and rapper Ice-T has played Odafin Tutuola in the series ‘Law and Order: SVU’ since 2000, with more than 500 episodes and 23 years on the air. His extensive resume includes films such as New Jack City, Johnny Mnemonic and Sonic Impact. He is also an author and has lent his voice to more than 20 popular video games.
