This sentence is in addition to the additional 23 years in prison that a New York jury sentenced him to in December 2020, two years after the allegations against him surfaced, for one count of third-degree rape committed on Jessica Mann, and a first-degree sex offense on production assistant Mimi Haley.

However, the jury acquitted the disgraced movie mogul of the most serious charges, rape in the first degree and, especially, of the predatory sexual conduct charge that could have carried a life sentence.

Thursday’s sentencing is the second for Weinstein on sexual assault charges since a 2017 report by The New York Times and The New Yorker revealed his alleged history of sexual abuse, harassment and secret deals using his influence as a Hollywood mogul to prey on young women.
