The actor has granted his first interview since the accident
Jeremy Renner has given his first interview since his life-threatening snowmobile accident with ABC NEWS and has already released his teaser, although we’ll still have to wait until April 6 to see it in full.
He was with his nephew in one of his homes.
The actor, who plays Hawkeye, was with his nephew at his home in the Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe region, one of the areas most affected by the Elliot storm.
They wanted to clear snow from the entrance of the house
Renner used a snowplow to make it easier for his nephew to get his truck out of the driveway. The driveway was packed with snow and the actor intended to clear the area.
Due to an oversight, the handbrake was not applied
They managed to tow the machine, but in an oversight they did not set the hand brake so it began to move everywhere and roll down, at which point the actor managed to jump out and get off the machine.
The actor escaped from the machine but the machine went to his nephew.
However, having already escaped from the snowplow, the actor saw the machine heading straight for his nephew and tried to stop it or divert it so that it would not hurt him, but when he tried to pull it up to regain control, he was dragged under.
Jeremy would act again as he did
In the brief preview of the interview we can hear the actor very sure of himself »I would do it again», about the events that led to his hospitalization.
More than 30 broken bones
Renner suffered more than 30 broken bones and punctured a lung after stopping the machine from running over his nephew and insisted he would do it all over again to save his family’s life.
His nephew even thought he was no longer alive.
In the short video we can also hear Renner state that he remembers the whole situation, while his nephew was terrified thinking he had passed away as he himself has stated in another of the fragments of the video »I saw him perfectly, in a pool of blood coming out of his head and I ran to him, I didn’t believe he was alive».
The interview contains excerpts from the emergency call.
The trailer also includes audio footage of Renner’s nephew’s 911 call after the accident where the actor’s howls of pain can be heard in the background.
The actor is recovering day by day
The actor is now immersed in an intense rehabilitation, he recently shared images through social networks of what were his first steps independently since the accident, a video that was filled with comments of support and joy for his recovery.
He does not know what the future holds
The actor also talks about the action scenes he’s shot and how he sees it going forward »I’ve lost a lot of bone and muscle in this experience, but I’ve recharged and I’m full of amo…and titanium» he joked.
The actor is very excited in the trailer of the interview.
In these brief images we have also been able to see the actor very emotional and this interview has been the space in which Renner has been sincere about one of the most difficult moments of his life.
The interview will be released on April 6th.
For the moment, we have to wait until January 6 to enjoy the full interview of the actor, who is recovering day by day and who looks better every day than the previous one.
