Accidentally drowned after consumption of harmful substances
Last Tuesday, it was confirmed through the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office that he had drowned in his bathtub after taking an inhalant and anxiety medication.
The police went to his home before his death.
According to a police report included in the coroner’s findings, Carter was last seen alive around 2 a.m. on Nov. 4, when sheriff’s deputies visited his home to conduct a welfare check.
Carter was visited to conduct a wellness check-up.
They visited Carter after he posted a live video on Instagra, in which he can be seen inhaling a toxic substance.
Carter was stable at the time
The actor and singer reportedly asked the authorities to leave and they did, according to the police report.
It was the housekeeper who found Carter’s body.
The next day, a housekeeper heard Carter’s dogs barking, but received no response from him. She entered his house and found him dressed and submerged in the bathtub.
Paramedics could do nothing to save him.
Paramedics pronounced him deceased upon arrival at the home.
The singer and actor had consumed pills and a noxious gas.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said in a report that Carter’s death had been caused by «drowning» and the «effects of noxious gas and alprazolam.»
The mixture of substances will cause accidental drowning.
Alprazolam is a generic version of the anxiety medication Xanax, and the inhaled is a gas commonly used in aerosol cleaners that can produce feelings of euphoria when inhaled.
