Charged with sexual misconduct and sexual abuse
Sebastian Bear-McClard, Emily Ratajkowski’s ex-husband and producer is facing numerous allegations of sexual misconduct, Variety has learned.
Some of their complaints come from underage girls.
One of the allegations includes that Bear-McClard contacted a 17-year-old girl through Instagram and forced her to shoot a nude scene for the Safdie brothers’ film »Good Time.»
The producer groomed
Another woman has claimed that when she was 18, Sebastian, who at the time was still married to Ratajkowski, began flirting with her on Instagram. Bear-McClard ‘groomed’ her until he managed to lure her to his apartment where he sexually abused her. «Sebastian and I started kissing,» the woman claimed. «Things escalated and then, without asking for my consent, Sebastian inserted himself inside me without using a condom,» she denounced.
Sebastian is involved in several legal disputes
There are also claims that, during the filming of »Uncut Gems,» Bear-McClard began messaging a 15-year-old girl on Instagram. The allegations stem primarily from statements filed in connection with one of Bear-McClard’s ongoing legal disputes.
Legal disputes over divorce and termination of employment
Legal disputes involving the producer include his high-profile divorce with Ratajkowski, as well as private mediation with the Safdies, who fired him from the production company they co-founded, Elara, last summer.
Women’s accusations are part of the reason he was fired
A spokesperson for the Safdie’s told Variety, «The Elara team became aware of Sebastian McClard’s behavior in July 2022. They took immediate action and fired him.»
Contacted the girls through social networks
Picking up on the first accusation, the young woman who at the time of the event was 17 years old claimed that after Bear-McClard contacted her on Instagram, they had a chance meeting at a loft in the SoHo neighborhood.
The young woman was deceived
The young woman saw her chance with the role in »Good Time», as she came from a humble background and thought this could catapult her to fame. In addition, Bear-McClard, tricked her and told her that she would meet the star of the movie, Robert Pattinson.
The then minor was unaware of the nature of the encounter
The minor, who was unaware of the nature of her participation in the film, said she felt «totally stunned and terrified» when it came time to shoot her scene, in which she had to undress in front of a dozen male cast and crew members, including an actor who had just been released from prison.
The actor faces numerous accusations
Among the complaints are also testimonies reflecting the violent and offensive attitudes that the producer had with the girls, as well as the control he had over them and their mobile devices.
