Actor Dick Van Dyke suffers injuries after car accident
Actor Dick Van Dyke was involved in a traffic accident while driving his car on the streets of Malibu, California. Fortunately, he managed to avoid being seriously injured, but suffered some injuries as a result of the incident.
Lost control of the vehicle
The performer was behind the wheel of a 2018 Lexus LS 500 when he struck the door of a home last week. The movie star told authorities that he lost control of the vehicle because the asphalt was wet from the rain.
Facial injuries and possible concussion
According to police sources, authorities received a call alerting them to the accident and when officers arrived they found the ‘Mary Poppins’ actor behind the wheel of the vehicle. Van Dyke suffered injuries to his nose and mouth and a possible concussion. He received medical attention at the scene, but -according to reports- «had no interest in going to a hospital».
Lost control
The actor told police he lost control of the vehicle before hitting the door. Officers reportedly accompanied Van Dyke home to prevent him from driving himself after the accident.
