Through a statement to which the media El País has had access and in which he acknowledges that he has been «in shock» and has needed this time to digest what has happened.
The decision to separate came before the news of the sexual assault was reported
The actress has taken the floor to announce her divorce from the Moroccan footballer, a decision she has assured that she took before the alleged sexual assault occurred, and to confess that «I have always been and will always be on the side of the victims», in what seems a clear manifestation of her position on the side of the young woman who was allegedly abused by her still husband.
The actress wanted to explain
«Today I feel it is my duty to make public this statement to express my state of mind and to clarify in first person the erroneous information that is circulating. And even if in certain sensitive issues or matters silence may be favorable, I have the urgent need to explain myself» begins the statement that, as Hiba points out, she has decided to make public «so I can resume my personal, public and professional life in the least damaging and traumatic way possible, protecting above all my children who are, as it cannot be otherwise, my absolute priority».

«The reality is that some time ago, after much meditation, the father of my children and I made the decision to end our relationship, long before the events in which I have been involved in the media and of which I am totally unaware,» added the actress.
