Ultimately, charges will not be dropped
Yesterday was plagued by news reports that criminal charges against Alec Baldwin for his role in the death of Halyna Hutchins may be dropped, the actor and producer still faces charges.

Charges against actor stand
Finally, although everything pointed to the withdrawal of the charges against Baldwin and against the gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the situation has not changed.
Baldwin pleaded not guilty
Baldwin pleaded not guilty to the charges against him in late February and was released on a promise not to possess a weapon, not to drink alcohol and not to speak to witnesses of the shooting, according to CNN.
A loaded gun
The actor shot ‘Rust’ cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last October during the filming of a scene in the movie with a gun that should have been a blank but, for unknown reasons, was loaded.
A real bullet
The projectile, which was not a blank bullet, hit the filmmaker in the chest and wounded the film’s director, Joel Souza, who was able to save his life.
Involuntary manslaughter
This event led to the January indictment of both Baldwin and the gun owner, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, for involuntary manslaughter.
Shooting resumes
Filming of the movie, which the actor produces and stars in, continues 18 months after the incident. The film’s production company has already paid a $100,000 fine for workplace safety violations.
