Pedro Pascal confirms he only voices TheMandalorian
Pedro Pascal has a busy schedule. He loves to travel around different scenarios, carrying cargo with him, usually living, breathing creatures. But since he has a very tight schedule, this means that his time is scarce, and he can’t be in two places at the same time, or maybe he can?
The controversy is settled
One of the most discussed questions on the internet has now been settled, definitively, by the star himself, who has confirmed that his role in the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, is mostly reduced to voice acting.
Explains his absence
In a roundtable for the Drama Actor Roundtable series conducted by The Hollywood Reporter, Pascal was asked if it was true that he didn’t always have to be present when filming The Mandalorian, and he replied that «For most of it,» he just voices. Brendan Wayne plays Din Djarin on set (Lateef Crowder handles the character’s stunts with the suit on), and Pascal even called his performance «better,» before explaining the reasons for his absence from physical sets.

Only when the helmet is removed
Pascal commented that he felt Wayne did «very well,» and that there were never times when he watched the series and thought he would modify anything the character did, or how it related to the mood of that particular scene. Of course, Pascal has been onscreen as Din Djarin, in prominent scenes where he is asked to remove his helmet for sentimental or plot reasons.
The Last of Us
However, because he was filming The Last of Us at the same time as the third season of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin does not take off his helmet at any point in the series, which was another clue that Pascal was immersed in other projects, something he mentioned during the interview. Being attached to the series allows him to participate in something entertaining, while being able to work on additional projects. As an added bonus, the series leverages his name to gain renown, in a win-win situation.
